Dollhouse Cancelled Before It Starts
Submitted by doughnut on November 7, 2008 - 12:18pm.FOX must be run by absolute tool-jockeys.
"Joss Whedon’s first new TV series since 2003, “Dollhouse,” originally to share Monday nights with “24” starting at midseason, will now air Fridays, where (unless I’m forgetting something) Fox hasn’t been able to launch a successful sci-fi series since 1993's “The X-Files.”"

This pretty much means a mid-season cancellation for Dollhouse. Thanks Fox, you've failed again.
I wonder if it would be worth my time setting up system to place bets on how many episodes will be aired...
"Drive", a midseason
Submitted by Snowrabbit on November 7, 2008 - 4:52pm."Drive", a midseason replacement that ran on Fox in early 2007, got through four one-hour episodes before being canned. They ran those episodes all within 8 days of each other, too. Two ran back to back on a Sunday night, then one the next day (Monday) in it's regular time slot. So that's three episodes in two days. When the fourth ep ran the next Monday, the ratings weren't great. The Wednesday after the fourth ep aired, they canned the show. Done. Forgotten about.
That is how crazy Fox is. If a show isn't working right out of the gate, they give up. Sometimes I wonder how Firefly made it as far as it did.
I bet Dollhouse will get 4-6 episodes before being canned.
it definitely seems like a

Not the type of show that Fox would give much of a chance.
Joss Whedon must have some sort of contact with Fox otherwise why would he keep taking shows back to them?
